The U.S Army War College develops, inspires and serves strategic leaders for the wise and effective application of national power, in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment, emphasizing development and employment of land power.  The College: Educates select military, civilian, and international leaders; Supports worldwide practitioners; Conducts research, and publishes to inform thought; Supports the Army’s strategic communication efforts;  and Provides comprehensive well-being education and support.  The War College produces the world’s best strategic leaders like Eisenhower, Halsey, Bradley, Lejeune, Collins, Vandenberg, Abrams, Shalikashvili, and Odierno  –  educated, strong and inspired to serve.

While federal funds support the core mission of the Army War College, funding from the Army War College Foundation provides the flexibility for the Margin of Excellence in teaching our nation’s future strategic leaders.  Contributions to the Foundation provide the means for this in the following ways:

Support for additional distinguished scholars on faculty through academic chairs

Enhancement of honoraria for lectures to students and faculty from prominent and relevant speakers who otherwise would not be available

Expansion of the College’s programs of research in: strategic studies; strategic leadership; peace keeping and stability operations; adult physical fitness; and history

Improvement of international relations through support of the College’s International Fellows programs

Support of programs in recognition of family member contributions to our nation

Recognition of distinguished student writing and public speaking

Recognition of distinguished faculty writing and publication

Support of academic conferences, exercises, symposia, outreach, and seminars including the National Security Seminar (NSS) and Strategy Implementation Seminar (SIS)

Enhancement of the College’s library holdings
